Day 8_13th January 2016_13th CIFF Closing ceremony

Closing ceremony happened at Woodlands theatre. It was not as grand as the previous years. In fact inaugural ceremony was also very simple.

Actress Nayanthara has been awarded the Amitabh Bachchan Youth Icon award. Kirumi has been selected as the best film in the Tamil Film Competition category. The same movie was screened again at the end of the closing ceremony.

The most awaited 13th Chennai International Film Festival has started today. I watched 3 movies today and one of those movies is one of the best movies I have seen in my life. Day 8 Review (25th December 2014) Closing Ceremony – 12th Chennai International Film Festival (CIFF)

12th Chennai International Film Festival came to an end today at Woodlands Theatre after having screened around 170 World Films in 5 screens for 8 days.

Kuttram Kadithal” directed by G Bramma has been selected as the Best Film in the Tamil Film Competition category. Also the same movie was screened at Woodlands theatre after the closing ceremony. So a huge crowd got the opportunity to watch this movie as premiere show (because movie is getting released only after January 2015). Also a lot of us got the opportunity to watch this movie for the 2nd time in this festival. Continue reading »

12th Chennai International Film Festival (CIFF) – One Day to start

Dear Media Personalities, Media Aspirants and Movie Buffs,

Just wanted to give you the latest update on 12th Chennai International Film Festival in continuation to my previous post. In case you haven’t read my previous post, click here to read it.

There is a small change compared to last year. Last year screening happened in 8 screens, but now its gonna happen in 5 screens namely Woodlands, Woodlands Symphony, Inox – 3, Casino and Russian Cultural Centre. There are going to be 5 shows everyday in each screen (except few days). There are going to be around 150 World Films.

The first show starts on 18th December 2014 Thursday at 9.45am at Woodlands Symphony. The first movie that’s getting screened is “Paris of the North” from Iceland. It’s directed by Hafsteinn Gunnar. Inaugural function starts at 6.15pm. However venue and dignitaries are yet to be revealed.

Video: Day 1  (12th December, 2013) 11th Chennai International Film Festival (CIFF) 

Excitement has started. Yes, Film festival has started today and I have watched 2 movies. Being the first day, there were a lot of formalities (Inaugural ceremonies), so screening happened in limited places today (Woodlands, Woodlands Symphony and Rani Seethai Hall) and limited number of screenings (2 shows per screen). From tomorrow screening will happen in all 8 screens (4 shows per screen).
